Captured Lies – Movie – Who’d You Choose to Play Each Role?
Writing Captured Lies
When I wrote Captured Lies, several years ago, I always thought it should be a movie. As I was writing it, I could see it playing out. I could see the scenes of the story as I wrote them.
There are several characters in this book that you will get to know. Some you will like and some you won’t. My hope is that most of them will stay with you long after you’ve read Captured Lies.
I would see Bailey running through the trees, trying to escape, going back to places she had lived before to try to find answers, trying to make sense of what was going on and who were the bad guys. I could see Bailey at her mom’s funeral trying to figure out what had happened, how she had died so young. Who the stranger was that told her she’s not who she think she is.
I could see Lund, the lawyer, who is pretty shady which Bailey picks up on right away but she doesn’t know why. She has to figure out what role he played in her mom’s life. All she knows is that her mom left her some coded messages and she is very clear that Bailey has to get some information on Lund. She has to steal his private, illegal information. Bailey hopes that it will give her answers as to what he knows about her mom’s death and was he behind it.
Little does she know that is what starts her on a journey of running for her life, trying to figure out who is telling the truth and who wants her dead.
It needed more
To add more depth to the story and more complexity, those who kidnapped her as a baby aren’t too thrilled to hear that she is alive. They will do anything to stop her from finding the answers she seeks.
There are several twists and turns that will keep you guessing as to how each person plays into her life and who is really trying to help her and who is out for their own gain. To learn more about the book, Captured Lies, click here.
So now I’m at this place in time, where I really think Captured Lies should be a movie.
Thank you for participating in my game, of who’d play each role, if Captured Lies were a movie.
So here are the results:
I think this cast looks amazing, all are amazing actors. It was really tough to narrow it down to just 2 for you to choose from for each role. Many of you gave me some awesome suggestions as well, for other actors. And of course since then I’ve come across other actors that would bring the characters to life. Definitely too many talented actors to choose from. But that’s a good thing. These actors would do each part justice and make the characters believable and real.
Here is a bit about each character:
Bailey (Daniela Ruah) – main character, 30 years old, after her mom dies, she discovers that her life has been a lie
Guy (Theo James)- second main character, 32 years old, PI, he is the one who finds Bailey and tells her she is not who she thinks she is. He works with her to find answers.
Dorothea (Helen Mirren)- 78, CEO of Caspian Winery, Bailey’s real grandmother
Geoff (John Larroquette)- 68, brother to Dorothea, VP of Caspian Winery, and definitely not the person most think he is, he is on a mission to stop Bailey
Graham (Max Thieriot)- 32, Guy’s partner as PI, he helps Guy figure out who is responsible for Bailey disappearing as a baby
Lund (Ben Kingsley)- 65, lawyer, he has some secrets he is desparate to hide, he is on a mission to stop Bailey
So what do you think of the cast to play each role?
She was kidnapped not once but twice and now someone wants her dead!
Can she untangle 30 years of secrets, lies and deceit before someone else pays with their life?
