Read for the Love of it!
If Captured Lies were a Movie, who’d play Bailey?
Writing Captured Lies was quite an adventure but even when I first started writing it, I saw it as a movie. I’ve always felt it should be on the big screen. I’m sure a lot of authors feels that way. 🙂
Making Captured Lies into a movie?
I am hoping to make it a reality. I am currently writing the script for Captured Lies. That has been an interesting adventure. And I can tell you that writing a script is very different than writing a novel. I can also tell you, I now understand why when a book is made into a movie, the book and the movie can be quite different.
Writing a script is very different than writing a book.
Writing a book, you are including thoughts, actions and connecting emotionally with the reader. The whole idea for the book is generally the brain child of one person, the author. There might be some suggestions and influence from others in how to make it better but it really is the creation of the author.
Writing a script is really about making everything visual. So the script is very bare bones and meant to have the person reading it be able to see it. See what the action is. And although it is the brain child of the author, it then has the producer, the director, the cast members and others who interpret and add in their dynamics to make it a movie that the public will want to watch. So there are many different layers and added opinions into the movie.
Truly an interesting journey.
She was kidnapped not once but twice…
and now someone wants her dead because of it…
Her life was a lie!
Bailey knew her upbringing hadn’t been normal but she’s worked hard to stabilize her life. She finally has a good business, a stable home; her life is miles from that of her childhood. Then her mom suddenly dies, leaving a gaping hole and a discovery that they may not even be related. If Guy, the private investigator is to be believed, her life was a lie. Growing up on the run has prepared Bailey for once again, fleeing to stay alive. Using the skills she learned on the street, Bailey travels back through a sketchy and dangerous past, to find answers. Dodging bullets, staying ahead of those who want her dead and convincing Guy she can do it alone, are making it difficult to uncover not only the secrets of her mother’s past but that of a family claiming she is theirs.
Everyone seems to have a story… but who’s telling the truth? And who wants her dead? To discover the truth, she’ll have to untangle a web of deceit, lies, and secrets dating back over thirty years.
Who should play Bailey?
I have a clear idea of who Bailey is and how I see her but would love your opinion. Who do you think should play Bailey if it were to be a movie?

“Captured Lies, the Movie.”
Bailey is a strong, female character who goes through normal life stuff. Her story, her journey is not one you’d wish on anyone but I’m sure that some people have lived a life where they discover that their identity is false. I can’t imagine having to try to figure out who you really are but in Captured Lies I’ve added in the additional layer of having someone wanting to prevent Bailey from discovering the truth.
Please comment below and let me know which woman you think would play Bailey’s character the best.
