Privacy Policy SECTION 1 – WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?   When you sign up to receive a free book or other giveaway from my website – magggiethom.com, as part of this process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name and email address. Email marketing (if applicable): When you sign up for a free book or other free giveaway, with your permission, we may send you emails about my books, my writing to publishing, new releases, and information about other authors. You may unsubscribe at any time in a link at the bottom of the emails.   SECTION 2 – CONSENT How do you get my consent? When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction (whether for a free product or a paid product), you fill out a form to get a free book or other free giveaway, you verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or return a purchase, you will see on the sign up that you are giving consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific and for marketing as well. You will receive an email immediately that will explain the types of emails you will receive – mostly informative about my books and writing but you will also receive marketing that will include buying my books and on occasion books by other authors. You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking a link at the bottom of the email. Your information is never shared with a third party other than being collected by an autoresponder i.e. aweber or if you are paying for a product on the website.   How do I withdraw my consent? If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting us at maggie@cmaggiethom.com. (Duncan, BC, Canada)   SECTION 3 – DISCLOSURE Your personal information is never disclosed unless we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.   SECTION 4 – Your data is stored through Paypal data storage, databases. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall. Payment: If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Paypal stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers. By paying through Paypal, PayPal uses SSL technology to keep your information safe. In addition, when you send a payment using PayPal, the recipient won’t receive sensitive financial information like your credit card or bank account number.
